Low strung
Low Strung is a group of classically trained cellists from Yale University who make up the largest all-cello rock ensemble in the world. The group arranges classics of the rock, pop, metal, and blues genres into pieces designed exclusively for the cello. Their repertoire includes songs by The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Lady Gaga, Coldplay and many others. Low Strung is known for its mashups of classical and rock hits. Every March the group goes on tour to a different city in the United States. In 2014 they visited Los Angeles, where they played at the Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center, the Whisky a Go Go, and Vitello's Upstairs. In 2012 they visited Chicago where they played at the Abbey Pub and the Nichols Concert Hall at the Music Institute of Chicago. In 2011 they visited New York where they played at the Bowery Poetry Club. ==Discography==
Low Strung has released 2 CDS to date. Its first, Low Strung, was released in 2007, and its most recent, Quadruple Moon, was released in 2014. The group was created in 2004 with six inaugural members. As of 2014 they have 12 members.
